no monkeying around

What's lightweight, compact, portable, bendable, wrappable, grippable, and gorilla fun!

This is the coolest gadget ever. From Joby- the Gorillapod.

This inspires me to attach my camera to trees, to rest on uneven rock gardens, to mount to the curvaceous Henry Moore sculpture and to not be afraid of lugging around a tripod which I almost never do because the usual tripod is bulky and heavy and awkward. Too cool. And check out the funny video on the website.

Amen! I bought one for my old point-and-shoot, and used it for the first time on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. I used it on the outside of the security grating, and managed to get some great long-exposures of New York's night-time skyline. Here's the link to my fave:

Now I'm looking for one for my Nikon DSLR. I love my big Manfrotto tripod, but you're right: it's too much to shlep around all the time. The Gorillapods rock.

Found you on Michele's this aft. I'll be back: your blog is wonderful!

This is a cool little gadget and I think this should be on my Christmas list! I feel exactly the same way about lugging that tripod around but it is sometimes necessary to get that perfect shot!
