ambitions in embroidery

embroid, originally uploaded by smoooch.

Small and dainty, the french knot is a very effective and beautiful embroidery stitch. It's the small blue dots in the picture. and a seemingly easy one to do. It's a knot. How hard could it be? Not so hard but holy time consuming. I spent 5 hours on French Knots today. That's about 350. And I'm not done. And it's only one pillowcase. I have yet to do its matching pair.

thanks for the link!
French knots are indeed annoying. I admire your persistence; it's a gorgeous piece of embroidery :)

Very very pretty - don't ever sell the pillow cases at a craft fair - they will be a real treasure.
