A rose is by any other name would smell just a sweet.

The world's largest and apparently "fragrant" flower is blooming at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. This spectacle of blossom glory is known as the Titan Arum and according to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden webpage it "produces a monstrous four- to seven-foot-tall flower head, which releases a monstrous stench of putrefaction at peak bloom." It's also affectionatly known as the corpse flower.
This rare and unusual event of the bloom revealing its vulgar odor to the world is sometimes confused with warming garbage from the stinking heat in near by New York and confused with the unfortunate victims of god knows what floating down the East River. Is it death or the corpse flower, pondering residents inquire. Wonder not, but fromn the ofactatory safety of your home, you can check out the webcam to see its progress.
I wonder if these would grow in Vancouver?? It would be perfect for the yard.
